Terms of Use

Last updated October 27, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Ironleaf Health LLC ("we") for using PlateSet ("the app"). By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

Please read section 1, about the risks of exercise you choose to do, and section 10: unless you opt out, disputes are settled by individual arbitration, not in court, and not as part of a class action.

1. Not medical advice, and exercise

The app is a logging and coaching tool. It isn't a medical device and doesn't diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. Calorie suggestions, targets, workouts, reminders and messages are general information, not advice for your situation. If a workout causes pain, dizziness or chest discomfort, stop and get medical help. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before changing how you eat or exercise, especially if you're pregnant, have a medical condition, or have a history of disordered eating. If you're struggling with food or your body, please reach out to a health professional or a support line in your country.

Exercise has risks. Any exercise, including the workouts in the app, can cause strains, sprains and other injuries, and in rare cases serious harm such as heart problems.

The risks you accept. When you choose to do a workout, you accept the risks that are a normal part of that kind of exercise even when everyone takes reasonable care, such as muscle soreness, strains, sprains, and injuries from lifting, dropping or losing control of a weight. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for injuries that come only from those normal risks. That's all this covers:

2. Coaches and clients

3. Your account

You must be at least 18. Keep your password safe; you're responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

4. Prices, trials and subscriptions

Using the app on your own: new accounts get 7 days free. After that, logging needs a one-time purchase through Google Play ($4.99 in the US; local prices are shown in Google Play); without it the app becomes read-only. You can still see everything you logged, change settings and delete your account, and nothing is deleted. If you leave your coach, or your coach closes their account, you get a fresh free week. If your coach's plan is paused, you can keep logging free for 30 days, after which the one-time purchase applies unless your coach renews.

Clients of a coach: free while your coach's plan is active.

Coaches: the Coach Terms also apply to you. Coaching features need a paid subscription, bought and managed through Google Play. It renews automatically each month until you cancel in Google Play (Play Store → Payments & subscriptions). Prices, trials and refunds follow Google Play's terms and the price shown when you subscribe. If a subscription ends, new clients can't join, and after a 7-day grace period you can't see your clients until you renew. Nothing is deleted: renewing restores access, and your clients keep their own logs and can stay connected or leave at any time. New coaches get a 7-day free trial where Google Play offers it (for new subscribers, once per Google account). It's shown in Google Play before you subscribe; if you don't cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and renews monthly. Your coach plan also covers your own logging, and if you paid for at least one month, you keep logging for yourself free after it ends.

5. Things you add

You keep ownership of what you log and write. You give us permission to store and show it as needed to run the app (for example, showing your log to your coach). For restaurant items you add to the shared list, you give us a permanent, worldwide, royalty-free license to keep, show and correct them, including after you delete your account. Restaurant items you add to the shared list may be shown to everyone; only add accurate information you're allowed to share, and nothing offensive, misleading or that you copied in bulk from someone else's database.

6. Fair use

Don't misuse the app: no breaking into other accounts, scraping, overloading our servers, reverse-engineering paid features, or using it for anything illegal or harmful. We may suspend accounts that do.

7. Food information

Food and restaurant data comes from public databases (such as USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts), restaurants' published nutrition information, and other users. It may be incomplete or out of date. Check labels when it matters. Restaurant numbers come from each chain's published nutrition information as of October 2026, and may not reflect later recipe or portion changes. Restaurant and menu item names are trademarks of their owners, used only to identify the items; PlateSet isn't affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by them. Owners can ask for corrections at support@getplateset.com.

8. The app as is

We work to keep the app running and accurate, but it's provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. These limits don't apply to (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence, (b) our gross negligence, willful misconduct or fraud, or (c) rights and remedies that consumer protection or privacy laws give you and don't allow a contract to limit, such as those under Washington's My Health My Data Act and Consumer Protection Act. Nothing else in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be limited.

9. Changes and ending

We may update these terms; we'll change the date above and tell you in the app about important changes. A change to section 10 won't apply to a dispute already filed, or one you'd already told us about in writing, before the change, and you can opt out of a changed section 10 within 30 days of it taking effect for you, in the way that section describes. You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for serious or repeated breaches of these terms.

10. Settling disputes

This section is for people using PlateSet for themselves. If you coach, disputes about your coaching (your coach account, coach plan or the Coach Terms) follow section 10 of the Coach Terms instead.

Talk to us first. If you have a problem with the app, email support@getplateset.com with your name, your account email and what you'd like us to do. We'll try to sort it out together within 60 days before either of us starts a claim.

Arbitration. If we can't, you and we agree that any dispute about the app or these terms will be settled by binding individual arbitration run by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (adr.org), instead of in court. There's no judge or jury, and review by a court is limited. The arbitrator can award the same individual relief a court could. For claims under $10,000 we'll pay the AAA filing, administration and arbitrator fees, unless the arbitrator finds the claim frivolous. Hearings can be held by video or phone, or in the county where you live.

Exceptions. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, and either of us may go to court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property.

No class actions. Claims may be brought only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective or representative action, and an arbitrator can't combine claims of more than one person. If this paragraph can't be enforced for a particular claim, that claim goes to court, not arbitration.

Opting out. You can opt out of this section within 30 days of first agreeing to these terms, or of a later change to this section taking effect for you, by emailing support@getplateset.com with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" and your account email. Opting out doesn't affect the rest of these terms.

If any other part of this section can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Where the law of your state or country doesn't allow these terms, they don't apply to you.

11. Law

These terms, and section 10 under the Federal Arbitration Act, are governed by the laws of Wisconsin, USA, except where your local consumer law gives you more protection. Court claims allowed by section 10 go to the state or federal courts in Wisconsin, unless your local law lets you bring them where you live.
