Coach Terms
Last updated October 18, 2026
These terms apply when you use PlateSet as a coach (anyone with a coach plan and an invite code). They add to the Terms of Use, which also apply to you. PlateSet is run by Ironleaf Health LLC ("we"). You agree to these terms when you tick the box before starting coaching.
1. You're independent
You run your own coaching business. You're not our employee, agent or partner, and we don't supervise, review or endorse your advice. Your clients are your clients: your agreement with them, your prices and how you work are between you and them. PlateSet is a tool you use with them.
2. Your advice is your responsibility
- You're responsible for the plans, targets, check-in replies, notes and any other guidance you give, in the app or outside it.
- Stay within your training and the law. Some states license dietitians and limit who can give individualized medical nutrition advice. Don't diagnose or treat medical conditions, eating disorders or injuries unless you're licensed to, and refer clients to a doctor or registered dietitian when their needs go beyond general coaching.
- Don't tell clients to stop or change medical treatment.
- Say who you are honestly, including your qualifications. Don't claim credentials you don't have.
3. Client safety
- PlateSet flags clients who log very low intake or lose weight quickly. When you see a flag, check in with the client, and point them to medical help if it looks like more than a light week.
- You can set calorie targets below 1,200, or lower the low-intake alert, only after confirming in the app that you're closely supervising the client on those targets and that they've agreed. We keep a record of that confirmation.
- If a client tells you they're in danger, encourage them to contact emergency services or call or text 988 (US).
4. Your clients' data
- Clients choose to share their health information with you when they join. Use it only to coach that client.
- Keep it confidential. Don't sell it, publish it, post it on social media, or share it with anyone else without the client's written permission. Don't copy it out of the app except as needed to coach them.
- When a client leaves you, or you stop coaching them, delete any copies you made outside the app.
- Keep your account secure. Use a strong password and don't share your login.
- PlateSet isn't built for HIPAA. If you're a doctor, dietitian or other "covered entity" or business associate under HIPAA, don't use PlateSet for protected health information.
- If you think a client's data was seen by someone who shouldn't have seen it, tell us right away at support@getplateset.com.
5. Your coach plan
- The coach plan costs $29.99 a month (or the local price shown in Google Play), billed and renewed by Google Play until you cancel. New coaches get a 7-day free trial when Google Play offers one; cancel before it ends and you won't be charged.
- If your plan ends, new clients can't join. After a 7-day grace period you can't see your clients until you renew. Clients keep their own data and can stay connected or leave at any time. If you paid for at least one month, you can keep logging for yourself free after your plan ends.
- Refunds follow Google Play's policies.
6. What you can't do
- Use PlateSet to harass clients, promote unsafe dieting, sell supplements or products with health claims you can't back up, or collect data from people who haven't agreed to share it.
- Coach anyone under 18 through PlateSet.
- Try to get around the app's safety features or its limits on what you can see.
We can suspend or end your coaching access if you break these terms, or if a client reports serious harm and we reasonably believe it came from your coaching. If we do, we'll tell you why when we can.
7. Responsibility for claims
You agree to defend and cover us (indemnify us) against claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that come from your coaching, your advice, your breach of these terms, or how you handle client data. This doesn't apply to claims caused by our own breach or negligence.
8. Limits on our responsibility
PlateSet is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for your coaching or its results, and our total responsibility to you for anything related to PlateSet is limited to what you paid for your coach plan in the 12 months before the claim. Wisconsin law governs these terms, except where your local law gives you more protection.
9. Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app and ask you to agree again before you keep coaching.
